MOSCOW, Feb 27 (PRIME) -- Russia’s central bank bought 12.5 billion rubles worth of foreign currency with settlement on Tuesday on the domestic market for the Finance Ministry, according to the documents seen by PRIME on Wednesday.
In February 2017, the Finance Ministry entered the currency market to minimize dependence of the ruble on oil prices. In September 2018, the central bank suspended foreign currency purchases from the market for the ministry to reduce volatility on the financial markets and resumed the purchases on January 15.
